Sprint has decided that they will not carry the 4G BlackBerry PlayBook. The stated reason for dropping the PlayBook is the fact that "there are so many tablets in the market, it creates confusion for the average customer." Apparently, having dozens of Android tablets out in the market is not confusing at all, but having one BlackBerry tablet out would dry the public to mass hysteria. While this news is obviously disappointing for people that were expecting the 4G PlayBook from Sprint, RIM continues to look forward as stated in their official comment to BlackBerryOS.com:
“RIM has decided to prioritize and focus its 4G development resources on LTE. We remain excited and committed to delivering innovative and powerful 4G tablets to the US market together with our carrier partners. Testing of BlackBerry 4G PlayBook models is already underway and we plan to enter labs for network certifications in the US and other international markets this fall."
