Joy of Tech takes shot at PlayBook and CEO Mike Lazaridis - Kills two birds with one comic

Today is the day the BlackBerry PlayBook is officially launching into the hands of many anxious BlackBerry fanatics and critics of all kinds. With recent events unfolding, such as, the negative pre-launch PlayBook reviews, and the interview gone bad with RIM's CEO, Mike Lazaridis - there was bound to be someone to make lite of the events into one joyous piece of artwork. Joy of Tech does just that in a very blunt manner with their recent comic (see above). I'm not going to get into the politics and comedy of the print, but "is it fair?" If you got a laugh out of the Joy of Tech cartoon, leave us a WHOOT!

Let's see what the users say. I never cared about "critics" or "experts"
Maybe not the most perfect tablet, but which one is?
All is compared to iPad's but they have flaws as well.
By the way, most people use tablets indoors, so wifi is used, I don't see the down side that much.
Don't think it will outsell the iPad, but if you're a BB user I think you'll like it.
Think the big downside is that it's out a bit late and specs might be a bit outdated seeing what others might be making...
I'm getting me one, damn those critics

In light of the overall picture, RIM has done exceptionally well for this being their first tablet.
Did they rush it a bit? Sure, but that won't affect who will buy or not. Being a bit behind on the OS isn't going to phase anyone from purchasing the PlayBook. And ideally, RIM is marketing this tablet for businesses as a extension of their smaller BlackBerry devices with the same security.

    I agree.
RIM is new, and like you said, for a first time product it look great and has good specs.
In due time they will find the right balance and tweak a goog tablet to an even better one.
A Playbook user is different from a iPad user I think.
