SurfBook trademark filed by RIM — Name for BlackBerry Tablet?
It appears that Research In Motion has filed a trademark for the name 'SurfBook' back in early August. So far there appears to be no patents that I can find under the same name filed by RIM. RIM does seem to have a habit of grabbing names and sorting it all out later to see what best fits their marketing strategy.
Remember back when everyone was buzzing about the name 'BlackPad'. Whatever the name of the new BlackBerry Tablet will end up being, I am starting to have doubts that it will even be released by the end of the year as some have speculated. We should have seen some sort of solid details leak out by now if they were going to launch the device by years end. So we will just have to wait a bit longer and see if either of the names tossed out there stick and for more details to emerge.
