How slow is the blackberry pearl flip 8220, really?

I'm thinking of getting one soon off of amazon.com, and all I really want a phone for is making calls and texting every now and then. I'm not even on my phone all that much, the reason I'm thinking of getting it is because I've never owned a blackberry before, and it looks pretty.

Is it really that slow? Are simple tasks like calling and texting slow, or is it just internet browsing and applications, etc?

Would you recommend I get a blackberry that is limited to OS 4.6 in today's world, or do you recommend another phone? I'm not looking to spend a lot, I'm going to get the pearl flip for around 150$.

To answer your question, if you are just looking to make calls and text then the 8220 is sufficient. If you text a lot, then you may want to consider getting one of the Pearl series products such as the 8530, otherwise known as the Curve 2, because it has a bigger keyboard for texting. Plus you will be able to run apps a bit better on a Curve device. But this all depends on your budget. Shop around and have patience in your purchase.

It also wouldn't hurt to post in our MarketPlace Forum that you are looking for a certain device to see what type of offers you may get.
