    Radio Off by itself

    Hi,

    I have an 8310 pearl (CDMA) and it is also turning its radio off every few seconds.
    Battery is good, firmware is up to date..
    Aaarrggg, any suggestions (besides replacing the phone) ?

    Had the same problem. VZW told me that they have a problem with the radio. Only way to fix is to replace the phone since its a hardware problem. Had to upgrade to the storm - so I can't wait for the new pearl to come out really don't like the storm - even though it works quit well with the latest OS.
    I went through 3 pearls and they wouldn't replace it for free. So I have a 3 month old pearl with a broken radio.

    I have had this issue happen with me twice.
    I am with Bell...But I really don't think it's a service issue as when you manually turn the connection on it you get signal again. Even when the radio signal says "off" for the phone, when you call your number (with another phone) you get a dial tone before it goes to your voicemail. If it's functioning perfectly on the other end I think it's just the 8130 that's the problem.

    I have had friends where it's happened to them and this is my 2nd pearl which now has the same problem.

    When I went to the store I bought my 8130 the first time, they reset the phone and it didn't fix the problem.

    And now that's it's died again, I've updated the firmware, and called customer service where they told me to run a diagnostics test which hasn't fixed my problem.

    The customer service rep. said it's happened often and since my phone is out of warranty I have to return it and get a new phone...though they know it's a reoccurring thing and they get this issue a lot with the pearls...


    I don't think it's a hardware issue only cause you can turn the radio back on and it works in seconds...and turns off again 10 seconds later...If it was a hardware issue when the receptors are broken then you wouldn't be able to turn it back on at all?



    Or am I just technically illiterate and have bad deduction skills?
