RIM Job Posting - WebKit Developer

Everyone remembers when RIM purchased Torch Mobile? Apparently RIM does too! A position has been posted in LinkedIn asking for a WebKit Developer with expert knowledge in C++ programming. This shows RIM is moving in the right direction to provide their users with an incredible mobile web browsing experience. Who wants to apply?

Interesting that it's C++, and not Java since the OS is Java based. Maybe RIM is moving to a C++ base in the future, like for OS 5.1?

C++ is easy enough, and I actually prefer pointers and manual garbage collection, but I have no experience whatsoever with web browser development, let alone WebKit development.

You can't really think that the BB OS is written in java can you? While some java OSes do exist for theoretical work and in R&D or college labs they are impractical at best. The BB OS is C++ with a java vm and sandbox for 3rd party apps.

Not gonna happen. Java is not going anywhere, it actually was invented to ease the headache's of C++ in some ways.
