Back in the 80s Apple were a huge thing but they died out for two decades until Steve Job came to the rescue with new products like the iPod, iTunes Store, iPhone, iMacs and etc. which revived back the Apple brand. Today Apple continues to be successful by adopting new products and adapting to new changes.
There is also news that Google and Nokia is expanding to the net book market as well, I can't see why RIM can't compete in this market as they are at an advantage right now.
You said it right there.. no one minds them getting there hands in but to create a windows based netbook isnt going to help them at all, unless they integrate the bbworld into it, i.e- bbm on the netbook, push. I think everyones gripe here is the fact that rim is not being innovative and just taking the passive bs route out.
