Thread: Updated VZW Inventory SKUs: 9550 and 8350

Kevin over at Crackberry.com has posted an image, the one above, of the Verizon Inventory SKU System. What is significant about it is. that along with it showing the Storm 9550, it also shows SKUs for the Curve 8530. As you can see there are two SKUs for the new Curve. The reason for that is VZW will be offering the 8530 in two colors: black and lavender.

Just because the SKUs are in the wireless carrier's inventory system does not mean they have them in stock, or are waiting for them to ship, so don't get your hopes up too high just yet. As Kevin states, if everything goes according to plan then you can expect to see the Storm 9550 released in late October or early November and the Curve 8350 should follow in the next couple of weeks after that. We can only hope Big Red is sticking to the plan and there are no set backs. What do you guys think?

I will be getting one of these phones. Not sure which one. I picked up a 8520 today and it felt great. Solid but light....decisions decisions.

Thanks Olta! I wouldn't mind having a 8530 either. It seems like a nice little device... you know not top of the line, but has nice features and a track pad! You are right Rellims... decisions decisions...

I think last year the Storm 1 showed up in inventory about 4-6 weeks before launch so Im ready.

That's a good question. Are they going to be making a 9550 without a camera like they did for the tour? That could be why it is showing up with two. idk.

I think they are place holder skus... as they are with out the BB9550 like the rest... is it possible maybe one with or with out wifi?

Hmmmm ... According to what I've been hearing Storm 2 is coming out October 22, phones on Verizon shows up on inventory about 5 - 6 weeks before it launchs ... I guess it will be around the end of October

EDIT: Talked to someone just now and according to him the last word about launch on Storm 2 is december.

November seems reasonable. That's when I'm guessing it will come out...probably around black friday.
