I am on tmobile and they have had the "Send Service books" under the help option for quite a few months now. So only way to know is if your on 5.0 and you click edit next to gmail account and you have a check box to sync contacts.

Hey don.
For VZW people, we had the Service Book Tab located wher the help tab is now so something has changed somewhere recently.

yeah I wouldn't know about verizon but it certainly may take sometime depending on each carrier. So maybe verizon did push them already but yeah I am don't see them on tmobile yet. I noticed the change for service books on tmobile under the help section in the middle of the summer.
It doesn't look any different for Telus. Service books have been there for awhile now.
I'm on sprint and don't have the option yet either
i noticed in the help pages on sprint.blackberry.com that it does tell you how to sync contacts with google mail. so i'm wondering if it just hasn't completed being updated yet as the information on how to do it is there but not the option under edit: myemail @ gmail.com?
i say give it a few days and see what happens
Once you resend the service books and pull the battery, how do you know if you have the update? and is it true VZW customers aren't getting it yet?
There is a lot of people saying they don't have BIS 2.8 yet.
Bbprintz if you go to the bis page on your bb, under the email accs, select edit (gmail acc) should be an option to sync contacts between phone an mail server

I found this in Help menu. and tried that but my option says 'NOT AVAILABLE'
Turn on wireless data synchronization
Note: Depending on your messaging service plan, this feature might not be supported.
By default, wireless data synchronization is turned on for organizer data, such as contacts, on your BlackBerry® device. If wireless data synchronization is turned off on your device, you must turn on wireless data synchonization before you try to synchronize your Google Mail™ contacts.
For more information about synchronization, click the Help icon on the Home screen of your device.
On the Home screen of your device, click the Contacts icon.
Press the Menu key.
Click Options.
Click your Google Mail email address.
Change the Wireless Synchronization field to Yes.
Press the Menu key.
Click Save.

Looks like the IMAP option is gone! No more IMAP. WTF??
