Win XP boot issues with DM 5.0 media sync

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced extremely slow computer startup issues with DM 5.0 installed with media sync?

I was having very slow boot times on my Toshiba laptop. It would sit and appear to have no activity for several minutes. Through the Windows event viewer I discovered the Roxio software (media sync) was having an error during startup. Once I uninstalled the DM and reinstalled it without the media manager, my laptop startup returned to normal.

Anyone else notice something like this?

Yeah Media Manager is a troublesome devil of a program. Always better to install DM without it.

I found out the hard way. I hope that maybe my mention here can help someone either troubleshoot or avoid the problem I had....

Hi, I am having similar problems with my pc and a very slow startup.
Two questions,
1)how do I uninstall roxio media and keep dm 5.0 (I'm a newbie, so I need pretty detailed directions)
and
2) How do you manage transfer of pictures/videos/ringtones to your sd card and device without the roxio?

Thanks for the help, if I could reduce the start up time, it would be great!

First off welcome to BlackberryOS :)

On your pc go to control panel add/remove programs and uninstall Desktop manager from your pc. Then use this link Here to download DM 5.0 without the media manager.

As far as managing pictures/music etc when you plug in your BB to your pc enable mass storage mode and you can drag and drop files, like you would with a flash drive :)
