Default MAC Desktop Manager and Four things to know from MacWorld

MacWorld wrote up this interesting article about the Desktop Software for Mac and things people need to know. I am sure many are excited for it to come...but take a close look at this quote:

Last but not least, there's no easy way to load "leaked" software on your BlackBerry device via BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac, according to Feldman. This is particularly interesting, because BlackBerry users with PCs can currently load just about any sort of compatible BlackBerry files via BlackBerry Desktop Manager's App Loader component. Feldman wouldn't get into details on how the "blocking" process might work, but he did say there's something in the Mac version meant to dissuade users from loading unofficial software.

So, does this mean no more leaked OS for Mac Users? Or hopefully, the OS will be so great that there will be no need for beta OS???

One big downside that should be mentioned, this will not install leaked OS's or hybrids. Boo on you RIM.

BTW, I am sure they are working on a update for Windows DM to include the block too...so watch out for updates, peoples

True, I am running a dual core pentium chip that allows you to run Mac and Windows at the same time. However, if you spend enough time on a Mac you really never want to see Windows again. So if you can't install leaks then Mac users will still be forced to use Windows to do that.

I am sure by the time the DM rolls out, there will be an app to block the block

    Poor poor Jlevy

On a serious note that is just ridiculous that you won't be able to do that.

I was looking forward to using DM on my Mac but with the news that I won't be able to install leaked OS's, I'm not too excited about it anymore.

It doesnt matter if you cant install a leaked os or not on a Mac DM....as long as i can install a leaked os on a PC and the Mac DM still accept it is what im concerned about.
