Thread: Skyfire halts browsing alpha on blackberrys

According to this article, due to the recent leak of the skyfire alpha browser being used and spread on many devices not intended has caused them to put a temporary halt on its program. They do not state when the halt will be ending, sorry guys D:

Thanks for the update Bob that is to bad and I hope it doesn't push the release back any further

The halt is immediate I believe. See this thread for more information. I know there was SkyFire rep in there at the end.

Now there's one angry company after a leak...

I do really love the leaks...but as a developer I would be pissed off if someone leaked one of my themes before it was ready. Here is why....I rarely give my testers the release version until the very end of the testing cycle. If one of these were put out it would damage my reputation and harm my ability to woo future customers.

So I understand why they halted the alpha testing because they just are not ready and the browsing experience is not what they want.

On a side note: since it did not work on the storm I dont care. LOL

I agree with P3Designs. They crashed the servers only because they weren't ready yet thats why there was no public release... It is going to push back the release date.. I spoke to the CEO via email this morning... Plus there isn't any beta or alpha testing for the storm platform yet. Soon. But i wouldn't expect to see anything for a couple months at least...
