    While converting the file is great for large files, I believe dropbox also plays MKV's. So as long as the file is small enough to upload, you could always upload your video to your dropbox account and play with the app.

    Natively iPad does not support MKV, in order to play MKV to iPad, we had better convert MKV to iPad more supported MP4 or MOV.
