More Aristo Specs leaked and its planned for Holidays

Check out this article: BlackBerry Set to Beat Apple in Launching Large Screen Smartphone (Phablet), with 4.65-inch Aristo | The Gadget Masters

On yesterday’s Apple conference call, CEO Tim Cook criticized existing large-screen smartphones (phablets) as a result of trade-offs. He also said that Apple “would not ship a larger display iPhone while these trade-offs exist.” We concluded that Apple would not launch a phablet in 2013, and that the first iPhone with a display larger than 4.5″ would likely arrive early 2014.
BlackBerry Aristo Gets Upgraded Specs, Launching in Holiday Season
Meanwhile, sources inside BlackBerry indicate that the company’s first phablet is on schedule to launch in time for the Holiday Season. The BlackBerry Aristo sports a 4.65″ Super AMOLED touchscreen, with quad-core 1.9 GHz Qualcomm Krait processors and 4GB of RAM. While the smartphone had a resolution of 1280×720 when work began, it is now expected to launch with a 1080×1920 resolution. The phablet’s specifications have received a nice upgrade since work started on the device, with a doubling of RAM, faster CPUs and enlarged 3,000mAh battery.
Designed to go head-to-head against the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the Aristo will be BlackBerry’s first quad-core smartphone. In fact, with BB10′s QNX OS being optimized for multi-core environments, it will be interesting to see the Aristo’s performance benchmarks against those of the Note 3. After all, there are signs Samsung may be struggling with 8-core smartphones – even though the international version of the Galaxy S4 has 8 cores, only 4 cores can be run at a time.

Only thing I find a bit of a stretch are the RAM...and maybe the battery size.

With a battery that size, it will most certainly be non-removable.

Kind of thought the same thing when I saw it but I'm thinking about how they keep talking of integration and we have heard from thor about using ur phone as a laptop by plugging it into a dock and if i am correct was there not a patent for a dock from BB last year.

On the original leak this was highly speculated that the battery will indeed be built-in. This was the sacrifice made with the Z10 in place of having a removable battery. I still think the Q10 should have made this mark making the device a lot slimmer as well as the Z10.

I was excited when I read this article yesterday, but when I got to the end, I noticed they didn't source anyone, nor did they "confirm" it with any inside sources. The only thing confirmed is that the device is still on track to be released before the holiday season. Therefore in my view, the specs are pure speculation. I hope it turns out to be correct though, as that would be an absolute beast of a device!

    Now we wait....

The Aristo has been tough to follow...I've heard it's early prototype hardware specs, but also seen others say it's way past that.

The Z10 wasn't originally planned to have a removable battery, look at the Dev Alpha A, so consider both the Z10 and Q10 special exemptions.

And BlackBerry does have a patent for some sort of tablet/keyboard combo. I'll look around for a link.

Edit: Here's an article about a hidden keyboard in tablet, the true future of mobile computing.

Considering the Phablet market is still growing and devices like the Note 2 are selling quite well, this device was definitely a smart decision to build. I'm looking forward to it and how it will handle one-hand-use :P The screen size should be good for some UI tricks built into BB10.x...
