Ascarii 2.0 Premium Theme for BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900 & Storm

Elecite has become one of the favorite theme designers. Their crew has just released a new premium theme called Ascarii 2.0 and its designed for the BlackBerry Bold, Curve 8900 and Storm. Ascarii fits in nicely with Elecite?s other premium themes. The theme is now available for $6.99 from their site So far Ascarii looks to be one of the best and highest quailty we?ve seen yet.

Ok, I had to bite. I downloaded it for my 9530...lol

Couple of qwerks. #1, it removed my SMS icon. Not a big fan of that. #2, the unit seems a bit sluggish now, but not sure. I did have to pull the batt once since install. The unit compeletly froze up.

I am having one recurring issue. If you look at the screen shots, it shows in portrait you can get all the icons, however, I cannot get them. When I turn the unit to landscape, the icons show, turn back to portrait, and the icons go away and I am back to the "watch face".

I have emailed them about this, no response yet (but the e-mail was about 5 min ago).

By the by, I am running BBCrackman's 114 Hybrid right now.

sluggishness is not too bad now. Just still missing my SMS icon.

As for the missing screen, I have gotten to it. What I have to do is let the unit lock itself in landscape mode. THEN turn it portrait, and unlock then. That gives me access to the menu. However, once it goes to the watchface, that is where it is.

Well, I have not encountered ANY of those problems. My SMS & MMS are together. The speed is still fast and not sluggish at all. Over all, I have to say this is not a bad theme. I like it.

Aight. A day of running and here is what I have learned. Batt is drained a little more than normal. Not a deal breaker though.

My MMS and SMS have always been together, but they were seaprate from my messages folder. So I had 5 messages icons (email 1, e 2, e 3, sms/mms, and then just messages). After the theme load, SMS/MMS went away. But, for those like me, who like their SMS icon out, here is how you fix it:

    1) click messages
    2) got to options
    3) General Otions
    4) Scroll down to SMS and Email boxes
    - select "Separate"

Now you have your SMS icon back.

Now that I am getting used to the theme, it is not sluggish.

    So far, still like it.
