A friend of mine (who claims to work at RIM in Holland) said that there would Jailbreak for the Blackberry devices (most likely the : 9900).
Can somebody please confirm this for me?

I agree with ice. The os on blackberry is what make blackberry a berry. No need to modify the os on the device but as for the playbook, most jailbreak to get the android platform on it.
