BlackBerry Voted Second Most Aspirational Brand in India

It seems as though many people are just looking at the US market as a gauge for RIM's success. Although it is a big part it's not the only part to measure the success of RIM. The fact is RIM is very popular in other parts of the world, and actually account for more of RIM's market.

According to The Financial Express a publication from India, the BlackBerry brand was voted the second most aspirational brand in India. BlackBerry came in at second place before its competitors Apple and Nokia. BlackBerry also dropped in on the publications most visible Brands of 2011.

That is quite impressive and coming out from India, this is just amazing to be honest considering it came ahead of Apple and Nokia brands.
    Well done RIM!

To me India has way more potential then the US when it comes to smartphones, just like Asia (China, Japan eg).
This will give RIM a large new market to grow in and become a dominant brand. I think analists and bloggers (yes you damned BGR!) focus to much on the US market. When looking at the European market you also see a shift where Apple is loosing ground (France and UK / Germany I believe) and in Holland (yes thank you, we rule) RIM is still the largest / biggest OS in the country. Okay, we only have 16 million people but still.
India is a larger country and will give RIM the growth it needs.

It's definitely RIM's time to shine in India. A lot of this has to do with India's growing business sector.

    FYI.

FYI, Blackberry is still a major player in the global market. I live in the Caribbean, Barbados to be axact, and BB is the most popular smartphone here. Samsung, HTC and Nokia are popular brands too. The iphone lags behind.
