More Pictures Of BBM On Android, Includes Alleged Note From RIM Employee
Earlier in the year there were rumors circulating that RIM would bring its popular BBM messaging program to the Android Operating System. Although RIM never confirmed this, it was only a matter of time before the chatter around the water cooler eventually would make its way to some sort digital makeover. We saw just that earlier this week when "leaked" photos surfaced showing BBM running on the Android OS. However, it wasn't long before the photos were declared fake.
It happened again, this time the photos are a little more convincing, and even come with a statement made by an alleged RIM employee. Lets take a look at the most recent photos that have surfaced.
The source TechnoBuffalo,
claims the authenticity of these photos is based the following statement given to them by an anonymous tipster:
I work for RIM and I was shown the latest version of bbm for android. I ran the app on the blackberry android dev phone.( The dev phone feels very cheap and unstable and the front four buttons have just been stuck on. I don’t believe this phone will ever be released to the public.) The latest version certainly looks better than the previous version.
And in response to the earlier leaks the tipster writes:
Just to clarify for the leaks earier this week, the “Nicole” account in the previous photos is the default account for BBM Testing.
While some have already declared this as fake (personally I love the taped on nav buttons), others are convinced. The images are rather clear, and it even comes with an explanation. What do you think about all of this? Are we looking at well devised fake or could this have some truth to it?
