This actually makes a lot of sense in my opinion and definitely doesn't rule out a qnx device in 2011... if they release the android player for the PlayBook, according to their time table (end of summer aka end of september), and the future qnx device is, in essence, a Mini PlayBook, there's no reason why they can't just add the Android Player (which would by then be available for a couple of months) to it at launch.

I never believed that Rumor from the start. I think we will see them sometime at the end of Q1 next year.

I'm thinking that the PlayBook will have Android Player for awhile before phones do. It will be a way for RIM to run the player on a mass scale and get it refined for phone devices.

To me there is a difference between an Android player and android integration. If they " integrate" Android compatibility they there will be no need for a player as we see it now. Its just my wild way of thinking. Also I would be surprise if they release something that early, why would RIM trump the OS 7 devices with a rushed "super phone"? #mytwocents
