There are frequent reports that suggest that India will be the first to have the Bold touch 9900. This is even before the suggested UK launch of August 22. The quote below from a reliable source suggest that India may have the device in their warehouses as early as August 7-8 . This means we could see it in people hands as early as the 15th.

hey guys, so like I've mentioned my uncle handles RIM's distribution in Eastern India and he had told me that he expects the Bold 9900 to be in his warehouses by the 7-8 of august with a release a week later. Could it be that India is one of the first countries to get the 9900 ? Well, the answer is yes. Even ahead of a UK launch which is slated for August 22.

That's not absolutely true because the handset is already selling in Lagos,Nigeria for 150,000 naira (910 dollars) since last week. Believe me bro, its not a chinese phone. Its clean. Its original.

We will just have to see if the reports are true, even then I doubt Nigeria will get it before the UK .

Just because a device is available for purchase in a country, it doesn't mean it's officially launched there. If a device is launched by a carrier in Nigeria then let's talk... no black market
