Rather One Version, One Installer, all devices; turning software development into a purely software centric rather than device centric development phase. the changes specific to device should be limited to a configuration script (similar to build.prop from android devices but with much more details that include dimension, virtual keyboard support, radio type, etc, etc, etc)

the only other closed proprietary company already does this (apple). Many PC centric companies do this as well, especially in the graphics industry. Both Nvidia and AMD(formerly ATI) have unified architectures and unified drivers that cover all variants of the hardware.
    Yep, this is huge.

if its somehow proven to be fake, BGR's credit would take a major hit...

Improvise, Adapt and Overcome...three simple words which could transform RIM's business model. Ditching carrier input completely while increasing the number of quality app's and open releasing OS updates would do much to mend some of the customers who feel forgotten and abandoned.

Well, only if they actually do this, and then push updates past the carriers directly to end users. The fact they're letting the middle men (carriers) also control this a major problem. But as far as seeing any hint of what I said in Rim's response letter, I did not see anything. and from ripping apart the new os7 builds, Its the same device centric style as their previous builds. They really need to get rid of their senior software project managers (not for the apps though, but they could also get a nice swift kick in the pants)

I dont know about it being fake, but maybe not from a top level employee... possibly an intern or a 'pawn' further down the chain (aka, an expendable, who probably already got the pink slip from their recent round of lay-off's)

Well if nothing else "Fake or Real" it has gotten the attention of RIM to respond. Now lets see some product being released.
