Man this OS totally ruined the graphics. Now I can see some transparency from the graphics showing through and get ghosting when I change the screen. What a mess!!! The only thing that I have noticed that works better is the camera. sigh...
Am I really the only one that has not been able to see this update on VZW website? They are still showing the update from December. So where did this news come from?
Wirelessly posted
It won't show up for a while. Open DM, connect your phone to PC and it should prompt you to upgrade.Originally Posted by drtechy

Greetings All,
I've been reading the site for some time, but just haven't every jumped into the forums till now. I have been trying to get the update for my Storm since last night. The DM doesn't see the update, and when I try to go to Verizon's Blackberry update site, I get some crap about the phone being connected to an Enterprise server, and I know it's not.
This is a personal phone getting email from my personal domain email, which is hosted by Google.
The OTA update was taking FOREVER last night and kept timing out on me. It would get to some percentage, and then just sit there for 30-45 minutes.
I figure a PC download/install is the best, but I keep running into roadblocks. Thoughts?
Here is the reply I just received from Verizon Enterprise representative regarding the update. Apparently it is official but has not been released on the site for upgrade quite yet.
"Yes! Approved .148 will be on our website today or tomorrow. "
Welcome to the BBOS x12Mike
You can download the "leaked" .148 Here
It is the same as the official release![]()
Bryan: Thank you, I'll download that now.
olta777: Also thank you.
I do have one question tho, when the "leaked" OS's come out, can those be installed without messing up any of the carrier branded software? My largest concern is the VZ Navigator, as I use that fairly religiously...
Is there the possibility that something like VZNav would stop working with an unofficial VZW-released OS on the device?
If you have it on your account, it won't get messed up. The leaked OS are not associated to any carrier (the vendor.xml file is empty), so when any OS (which has been leaked) gets approved as official, the carrier just adds their info to the vendor file. But otherwise, the core files of leaked and official .148 are exactly the same.![]()
The full official Verizon download is now available (6/1/09) via the BB site and probably directly from VZW. BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites
