Slacker Radio gets updated to 2.0.2

Slacker Radio gets updated to version 2.0.2

"Listen to all of your favorite personalized Slacker stations on your BlackBerry for free! You can listen to over 100 stations programmed by music experts or create your own custom stations right from your BlackBerry.

You'll have detailed artist biographies, full album reviews and more. Best of all, the music can be stored on your phone so you can listen even when you don't have a connection!"

    Change log:

The new version optimizes the application in order to lessen the gap between skipping songs. After about 15 seconds when the song first starts you should get near instant skipping to the next song.

Slacker recommends uninstalling your previous version before downloading the new one.

    Slacker Radio 2.02

Just downloaded the new version of Slacker Radio.
The sound is amazing, crystal clear.
    Skips between songs is instant.
I have a Fiio 5 Headphone amplifier attached to my Storm, which I bought on Ebay for $19.95. Well worth it.
The quality of stereo sound far exceeds any other internet radio.

Any indication of how it's behaving vis a vis memory?

I used Slacker and then removed it. One reason was the gap between skips. The other was the artist I chose, wasn't always the artist I got..Just the genre of music. Has this been improved. I may have another go of it.

What good is an app if it doesn't have a memory leak. It's still there but seems to be not as bad as the previous release. But as you know each Storm has a mind of it's own so you're leak may be better or worse depending on the position of the moon.

Yes I have used both. What I like about Slacker is that you cache a station or artist to you memory card for those time in which you have no reception. This is something that Pandora does not allow currently. Slacker IMO has a larger array of choices including comedy and what not. Nothing like listening to George Lopez on the 6 train. I also found that Slacker skips less than Pandora but that may have been changed with the new update. I have both because I enjoy music but if I had to choose one it would be Slacker. Just my two cents.

Laney, if you like Pandora, you will love Slacker! I used Pandora first and thought it was the greatest radio since Sirus, but then I tried Slacker. No comparison, you can customize your stations by adding the artists you want. I listen to a large variety of music and no one station gives me what I really want. You can also have your favorites play more or less frequently.

Yes, it is. But if you change stations, you get another 6 each time!
