The latest OS update for the BlackBerry Storm, OS 4.7.0.148, will be ready for official download Sunday, May 31st by 3PM EST. Verizon will also be rolling this update out to customers through an OTA download beginning Sunday night (10pm Eastern Time). To get the download OTA, go to Options>Advanced Options>Wireless Updates.

After hearing that OS 4.7.0.141 failed Verizon testing, and seeing yesterdays MR2 info sheet, everyone has been getting a bit anxious waiting for something from Big Red. Well we just officially got word that Verizon will release OS 4.7.0.148 for the Blackberry Storm 9530 this Sunday, May 31st at 3pm EST.
Customers will be able to get the update via the Web at BlackBerry - Update your Device Software beginning Sunday, May 31 from 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Verizon Wireless will also be rolling this update out to customers through an over-the-air download beginning Sunday night (10 p.m. Eastern Time). To get the download over the air, go to Options> Advanced Options > Wireless Updates.
It's about time right? Hopefully this update will have some good fixes. Leave a comment and let us know what you think!
Well I for one will not go with the "Official 4.7.0.148" even if it actually does go official, while we have excellent people here like BBCrackman who continue to surpass our needs with excellent Hybrids like his latest V6.

I would really like to see some comments on this one stating what you thoughts and or feelings are if this really does occur. Let's be objective and state what our real concerns are regardless if you go with it or stay with a leaked OS.

i will be staying with the hybrids. it's nice to see that verizon is at least still interested in giving its storm customers something, after being quiet for so long. this release will definitely be a big boost for those still on .75, but for those of us who have been keeping up with the leaks and hybrids, if v6 works well on your phone i'd say keep it, since you're already ahead of the releases.
That is the friggen longest change log I have ever seen!!

After some slight problems, Verizon Wireless officially announced on Friday that it will release a software update to RIM BlackBerry Storm owners starting on Sunday.
BlackBerry OS version 4.7.0.148 will be available to customers beginning on Sunday, May 31, at noon Pacific through BlackBerry's support site. Verizon will also roll out an over-the-air download on Sunday at 7 p.m. Pacific. To get the OTA download on your Storm, go to Options> Advanced Options > Wireless Updates.
