Thread: BlackBerry App World to be updated to v3.0!

The guys over at N4BB just got some exciting news. An update to BlackBerry App World will be coming soon, sometime in July or August, almost a year after the v2 update. Hopefully this update will also allow BlackBerry users in currently unsupported countries to use it (for example; yours truly). The new App World will feature:

• New UI (categories OS6s-style with carousel)
• Social Sharing of Apps (via BBM)
• Subscription for content per7/30 days Trials
• Normalize prices between currencies
• Search bar (like universal search in home screen)
• Carrier Billing for major carriers

Let's not forget the Enterprise version. This will include:

• Enterprise channel inside AppWorld
• Blackberry OS first, PlayBook later
• Visibility and permissions managed by BES admin

I'm waiting I love new stuff

I would LOVE to see the new app world available in the Middle East. We've waited too long

Nice, can you purchase paid apps, or just download free ones?

Dammit, still doesn't work here. Wish RIM would finalize and release it soon.

I haven't ever tried to purchase any paid apps because I haven't had a credit card yet

Here in Egypt , App world worked about a month ago

It seems, the updated version of BlackBerry has new & unique features. Hope it will satisfy the user needs..

I agree totally.
Hopefully, RIM will see what the consumer wants and give it to them. So far, even after less than a day of using the App World client for BlackBerries, I'm tired of the interface. Plus, the categories aren't that useful for me, I would much rather see a Free section and Paid section than the current style. I hope that new OS6 style of categories will do that.
