I wonder if it will fit in my otterbox? It does LOOK a little thinner then storm 1.
Although how do they think their going to sell V2 when V1 still doesn't work the way it should

I agree with this comment. I'm going to find it hard to get behind V2 when there seems to be NO word or positive hint of any new OS, support, or other from VZW (my carrier) for Storm 1. Since the case for V2 is thinner then this would have to be an option as an upgrade path for us S1 owners. Although excited to see new stuff just very disapointed as a consumer at the Lack of LOVE todate from a major carrier for their supposed Flag Ship product.
If this is the case then LONG LIVE BBC and this community for keeping the support up for S1.

Kinda of BS, I think VZW should be doing some sort of trade ($150 off the purchase of STORM 2 with trade in) or early upgrade for us 9530 users towards the Storm 2 (what ever 9XXX series it ends up receiving). This (9530) phone hasn't been out for a year and a replacement is already on its way...
Credit there marketing team for VZW on the 9530, got allot hooked for 2 years and now there going to make some serious coin on this phone as well. I actually hope VZW doesn't get this phone exclusively, they do not deserve it. Im sure they knew this was coming (RIM had them in the loop) the whole time. Which is why support for the 9530 is almost non-existent. :angryfire:
I understand that theres always going to be something new coming out, and companies are always looking to bring the latest and greatest. But its just F'n sad how VZW has pretty much so abandoned us Storm users, give us sheit about our phones (Had to jump through hoops on all 4, yes 4 phones replaced, all had issues that are well documented such as clicking issues and dust under the screen!). If they truly tested this phone before its launch they would have noticed that the phone was not ready, but im sure the $$$$ was all they saw (so I cant flaw them on that). Kinda of makes me sick... :684:
Would love to see a class action law-suit against VZW (even though it would be a stretch) and it hit the publics eyes VIA network and news, just to tarnish there name a bit for there "LACK OF GOOD BUSINESS ETHICS" on releasing a phone that was physically and operationally flawed (and to this point it feels like its very unsupported), and have yet to do anything substantial by any nature to "REC7IFY" there releasing of this obvious flawed unit (don't get me wrong I like it, but take a real honest look and opinion on it and you have to agree that this phone is not 100%, not even 85%).
COMMON 9630 GET HERE ALREADY!!!!

Ill be first in line when this comes out. Cant wait. Looks great.
I love my storm but the only thing I never cared for since day one was the dated look of the front buttons. This new version looks to solve that.
You know, you read my mind...I was just thinking the same think earlier today....but here is another thought....clicking in the corners would be great, but then when clicking in the middle, wouldn't it require more pressure since what 4 or 5 buttons have to be pressed??? People that had their hands on it, say it's a very nice input feeling and feels way better than current storm.....I guess will see![]()
I just feel it would be a more secure having 5 different buttons so that your not straining to say hit in a corner to edit a text/email. But you may be right with having to press harder in the middle with so many buttons, but would the center button but raised just a tad higher to make it easier? This question can go on all day/night/month lol. But its gonna be interesting when i get my hands on it!
Let me add this little wrinkle to both of your comments. The keys will actually not be keys but touch sensitive (i.e. like the iPhone). In addition, from the prototypes that someone I trust has seen says the technology will no longer use click press but will using something called touch press. There is no pressing anymore it will be touch sensitive just as typing on the iPhone. There will not be anymore clicking to it. RIM is had made two diff prototypes to my knowledge the touch press with no haptic feedback and one with haptic feedback. Which one will make it to market depends on probably the same thought process that put .65 on Storm 1![]()
Additional note, Olta is correct the current prototypes have 4 buttons.
I don't know about the idea "like the iphone." CX said that it won't be like the iphone, because the true press technology is different????? but I have no idea....I guess until it comes![]()
I can't vouch for it myself since I have not seen it personally but one of my engineers is working with RIM right now on something totally unrelated to the Storm. Anyway he was in with a few other engineers when they busted out the prototypes. He said there is no clicking anymore, it is touch sensitive. Once again these are just prototypes so everything is subject to change.
We will continue the discussion after dinner :beerchug:
True...cause what if what they have now doesn't work so well, they will change it....and that can go on for a whileI really do hope they get it right.... I don't mind the click, it's dust issues that really bother me. I wish they made the gap way smaller or at least sealed it with some thin rubber (like the ipod--sorry didn't mean to bring it up, but it is sealed well)
