The BlackBerry Torch currently holds a 4.5 rating based on the feedback coming from Amazon.com and it has also been voted the “best” Blackberry ever by PC Magazine. With these favorable findings you would think that it would be met with open arms by more people. On the contrary, industry experts have not been impressed and the sales reflect this. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Torch has sold a meager 150,000 units compared to more than 1.6 million iPhones.
It's not surprising to hear this, because looking at the features of the phone, it just doesn't light consumers fire when displayed next to the competition. The Torch's 624MHz processor just can't compete with Apple’s A4 chip in the iPhone 4 or the newest Droid’s 1GHz Texas Instruments OMAP processor.
If you want to stay ahead of the pack, (or at least with them), RIM must take a bigger leap forward or step aside for the serious runners.
What are your opinions on the new BlackBerry Torch?
