This is gettign ridiculous- I bought a Motorola s9 bluetooth stereo headset and found out that my brand new Blackberry 8100 doesn't even support it!!! I was positive that it would have a2dp. Anyway, some research reveals that all will be solved with an os upgrade to 4.2.2 (even documented on their website), but this isn't even released yet and has been promised for over a year according to some forums!!! Anybody have some news on when they will finally get it to the public?
4.2.2 will (as far as I'm aware) never be released. We're in the 5.0 software now, I don't know why they would release a far older version? Maybe the story is different with the 8100 since it's an older device as well, however I doubt it..
Not to be rude or anything, but its not RIM that needs to catch up and release stuff. Its you who needs to buy a new device. You are about 2-3 years behind all other Blackberry user. This is what I would do. Hop on Craigslist or Ebay and try to find a nice cheap new phone and when you get it we can point you in the right direction to load 5.0 OS onto it.
OS 4.2.2? Sounds like a platform number to me.. I would try RobinM's suggestion with OS 4.5. If you click on the downloads tab at the top of the page, you will be able to find a link for it. Posted via mobile device
