Today, Research in Motion announced BlackBerry App World 2.0. This version will see some major updates and offer a handful of new features from the original release. The biggest change will be support for carrier billing. You will now be able to purchase apps and have the fee hit your wireless bill directly. The option to pay via PayPal will still be available. Additionally, the search function has been improved and the My World section of the app will contain additional data about a users apps. RIM is also introducing BlackBerry ID. BlackBerry ID will let users create a master BlackBerry account in App World which can be transferred from device to device and carrier to carrier. The plan is to make very simple for users to transfer devices and carriers and not worry about moving apps to their new devices. A release date has not yet been announced, but let's hope for the near future as some of the updates seem real user friendly.
