VZW OTA Release Date, Maybe

It appears the new Official OS Release is due out this Friday, also known as May Day. Apparently Verizonwireless will start sending notifications Thursday evening April 30th and continue through the end of May via Wireless Upgrade Notification. If you are out of range dont worry, you will be notified again. I havent had any definite conformation on which OS we will be receiving,however we can only hope it is the latest and greatest. As you all have read in the past these release dates have come and gone. Hopefully VZW will come through on this one.

If this is the case that it is only OTA. Would we have to downgrade all hybrids/leaks to .75?

Or...

Some of us unfortunately ones with terrible memory leaks will get the error for not having enough free application memory to upgrade OTA.. I know thats the issue I ran into when upgrading to .75 when it was officially released.

4.7.0.141...OK, today is May 1st...checked at BlackBerry? Software Updates and it is not available there yet (this is where the official update would be available for download for Verizon Wireless customers. I also checked my Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update and it is not there either. One can only hope it will be there and be official soon.

I seriously doubt this will go official today. Even if it does, we already have it since .141 was leaked.

If it is released yiu will be notified by a new message indicator stating that you have a wireless update available. You probably won't see it on VZW's website

proof of what? i have that os and i have verizon. it was leaked not released by verizon. version 4.7.0.141 is alreay out so verizon would be stupid to release it as official. not that they are not though.

I was talking with some of VZW managment team and he was saying, they ask RIM to work on 5. for the Storm it will be a little longer till we see it happen :-( . I really hope it will be worth it then. I need to stay cool!!!

Sounds about right. Certain carriers (which will remain nameless) will start receiving OS 5.0 for validation beginning next week.
