BIS 3.0 Rolled out in Europe

Well this comes with a heavy heart, but BIS 3.0 has made its way to Europe. With this roll-out it has been confirmed that there is no Gmail 2way sync. What this means is your read/unread and sent mail, will not sync between your phone and inbox as earlier promised. If we look back at earlier documentation it clearly stated that this would be included in the release of 3.0. This comes as no surprise after last week BerryReview caught wind of this as well. What does come as a shock is what was the point of this roll out then? Or even better when will RIM put something in place to keep Blackberry users interested and happy?

The lack of full GMail integration into BIS 3.0 is very disappointing. We have all be waiting for this service which I feel is essential for a mobile email platform..especially by RIM which is the self professed king of mobile email.
I for one will be sending RIM comments on my disappointment and again complete lack of clarity as what is being released.

    Welcome to

I agree with you completely. Gmail integration should be a no brainer for RIM. I do not see what issue they are having.

I for 1 am not worried about full gmail sync. I don't use gmail. Has anyone heard if this will fix the problem of getting past an ISA server in MS Exchange email?

Issue? That they don't care? And why should they. They are not consumer Google, but corporate BlackBerry!?!! Honestly, why is everybody complaining?
    Resistance is futile.

Because the BIS is not the corporate part of it, and about 80% of blackberry users are using gmail or other google apps on the phone. it was something that was promised, and I think the big thing is this gives people with out a exchange server of any kind (like small business like the one I work for) an opportunity at finding some sanctity on not having to delete and read twice.
