How do I get BBM 5 on an 8330 that has an IT Policy??
Hey guys, just like the title states, I have an 8330 that has an IT Policy on it that does not allow third party downloads. Am I screwed??

On a serious note and first of all I just want to say if this is your company Blackberry you can get fired for tampering with the IT policy on the device or at least seriously reprimanded. If you bought this from someone for use as your personal BB no biggie. (But from how you worded your question I'd guess its your company BB).
The best way for you to do it is to use JL_Cmder and it's "resettofactory" command to remove ALL IT policy, Firewall restrictions and Application Permission settings. (This means you won't be able to restore settings to how your company has it configured after you load BBM5)
You want to backup the device using Desktop Manager, close Desktop Manager, then run JL_Cmder and execute the "resettofactory" command. This will do a security wipe of the device; (meaning wipe your data but leave the OS, DO NOT use the "Wipe" command in JL_Cmder) then reboot leaving the OS, 3rd party apps but no data AND, best of all, NO IT policy whatsoever. When you're done, just restore your backup and you're good to go with no policy or locked firewall. But good luck getting the policy your company requires loaded back on the device once you install BBM5. If you can somehow get a copy of your companies specific IT policy .bin file you might be golden.

Blade is right. If this is a company owned phone, I would not attempt to circumvent the IT policy as it may be grounds for your termination.
