Thread: Has anyone been able to scan a barcode on the new bbm5?

I have been trying this and it isn't working properly. Last time i tried it said error and reset my phone......any suggestions????????

if you dont get it on the first scan most of the time, it locks up for some reason. Gotta love beta stuffs! It does work. And if your doing it off of a PC, it will prob be a touch more difficult due to your phone and screen having different refresh rates. causes the screen to "scroll" and when it tries to capture, you get lines that make it not read :/

i suggest trying on a bigger photo, or even try printing them out or something, if its that important.

There's been a couple of bar codes that didn't work for me. But for the most part no problems. Haven't experienced any resets due to it either.

Most of my new bbm contacts were added via barcode, so it should work...

yeah i got it to work i was trying to scan someone's from this site and did get it to work finally........don't know who the hell it was though i was scanning it off their profile pic

Added a contact via scanning barcode for the first. Added watkins thru the avatar.

A few things I have noticed about the 2d Barcodes.

The larger the picture the better.
It also works better portriat than landscape.
