    It is PIN driven....but with the new BBM, if you go into "edit my info" and scroll down to the bottom, the emails that you have on your BB are merged into bbm as well. So, I would think if you and your wife share emails, that might cause the issue. Try setting another one as default.

    Thank you for the quick response... I deleted the joint email, restarted my BB, deleted BBM5.0 and again restarted. Just OTA'd and am adding contacts back in. Hopefully that will fix the problem, I really don't want to have to go back to the downgraded version.

    I must say I am not impressed with BBM 4.7 on my Tour so I upgraded to 5.0

    Still experiencing problems between both mine and my wife's storm. Have removed the joint email account from both and our contacts/screen names are still intertwined. Does anyone know how to remove an email association with BBM? I went into 'edit my info' and deactivated all my email addy's but that does not seem to help. This is a problem that just won't seem to go away...

    You may want to think about doing a security wipe to clear the user settings of the device.

    Yes do a back up first

    To do the wipe on your phone go to

    options-security-general settings-hit bb button and choose wipe handheld
