Has anyone successfully put BBM 5.0 on an 8130 Pearl? I know of about 4 or 5 people who would be interested in this but I have not seen an OK version for the pearl or the OS required for it.

So for now I am telling them not to do it.

I cant find it, and there are alot of pages of stuff to read through... have you checked all the folders? when i the home screen bbkey>bbkey>make sure show all is checked, and nothing is hidden

Has anyone been able to tinker with the "Proximity Alert" setting in BBM 5.0?

I would be VERY interested in turning this on for some users.

Hey all,

So I've been running 5.0.0.90 for a bit now, and love it. Now the obvious stuff that we all know is that there are a few apps that just dont show up and you can't launch them. I loaded the new BBM today and its doing the same thing. I've removed it and tried the Bold 4.6 one and got the same results. So far I have tested the 5.0 files, bold 9000 4.6 files and even the 5.1 files. I have not been able to get the new BBM to work on 5.0.0.90 or 5.0.0.100 at all. Has anyone had any luck in getting this to work yet?

Hi MrTaz30 i can help you on that but i need to ask you something?
BBcrackman our resident hybrid expert just released and hybrid OS for the Bold, this include 4.6.0.282 and 5.0.0.100 plus the new bbm, the best of both worlds, would you like to try this Hybrid out?. if not let me know and i can you trough the process for the new bbm..

Was just reading his thread and thinking about trying it out...Ive used hybrids for my nvidia computer video cards but have never done it as an OS. I'll have to see if I can give it a try.

Well I try it, I guess I'd still be interested to find out if anyone with a standard build of 5 has been able to get the BBM 5.0 loaded and working. Seems odd that there would be files specifically listed for 5.0 but that dont work on it. But....eh...its beta right....

If you use the BBM 5 files for the Tour (4.7.1) it will work just fine...

you are just right, the answer is yes, it works on 5.0.0.100 build so are you planning to try bbcrackman bold hybrid right?

I'll give it a try, but probably wont be quickly...maybe later this week, so any suggestions that I can look at in the meantime would be helpful.

Yeah I tried both via OTA and the app loader. Both didn't seem to make any difference.

I'm deleting the app and trying the stromota link again. Ill update in a sec.

EDIT:
Ok...so interestingly when I upgraded from .90 to .100 it removed my blackberry browser, now I only have MediaNET and Hotspot Browser. When I try to download with either of these browsers, the download fails with an error:
"907 Invalid COD
Unable to import ZIP file"

When I got this error on .90 I changed to the Blackberry browser and was able to get past this error. In .100, it doesnt appear that I have this option.

Yeah so unless I can get a blackberry browser running on .100, I'm stuck not being able to do the install OTA and only by the app loader. All the downloads invoke the MediaNet or Hotspot browsers and those wont correctly handle the jad.

Okay all. I've tried something that seems to be clearing up the issue yet I can't explain yet. This is working for me now.

Earlier this morning TouchPro indicated that there was an issue sending pics between contacts. Sightly after that post more and more of us were experiencing message issues such as resending etc. etc.

I used CrackUtil to wipe my IT policies and now BBM 5.0 seems to be playing nice again. I don't know why but it is. I hope to find an explanation later on but right now I would recommend to those having issues to backup their device/3rd party apps using Desktop Manager, then use CrackUtil to wipe the IT polices. It will post a link for CrackUtil to those who may not have it on their PC. Bare with me.

Ok found my Blackberry Browser, had to have the BES resend me my service books. I installed the Tour files via the OTA link and there it is all working....now to test the hybrid OS.
