The Official BBM 5.0 Help Thread

Hey man, its doing it again, did yours continue to do that. Its now delivering messages anymore. It was fine for a bit, but not doing it now. And when one of them is delivered, it dont show the D or R over the check mark. Am i just SOL with BBM 5.0? I did do it from OTA, should i have done it another way?

What's it doing ottie...? I've been a liitle busy today so can you explain a liitle bit more in detail. Remember this is Beta so there may be some bugs still...Mine has been good for the last 24 hrs now. I use a 9530 Storm.

mine was good for the first day i installed it.. this mornin thou.. it decided to go retarded .. i thought it was cause my location in my class ~underground sort of lol~.. but even afta i left there.. and 3 battery pulls.. im started to have mixed feelins.. it looks great.. and seemingly functions fine.. just that now its looks to b havin issues sendin.. receivin.. idk... im tryin to let it settle in.. maybe work its self out.. but yea.. damn betas lol.. very promisin thou..

Just to give you guys an update: Use CrackUtl once you get BBM 5.0 up and running if your having any issue with it.

This option works and works well. Some slow downs and problems with bbm can be fixed with this and service books...both pretty much have the same effect. RIM servers have been acting weird lately and that is the reason why there are delays with messages being received and also some inconsistencies across the board. But yea...resending service books gets it working good for the most part...everything else will be RIM servers being slow.

Hey touch I think I may have hit on another issue. May or may not be related. Check you user setting for this profile.

Options>>MMS>>Automatic Retrieval....What is that setting selected at for you?

Nah that's just the way things are when something like this comes out to the wild!

The people who are really feeling it are the people who don't upgrade and are having these same issues because of us overloading the servers.

yea i figured as much.. cause it was workin fine in the early morning.. but as soon as the normal work day started.. its been sluggish.. so technically bbm 5.0 is Awesome.. but were breakin the server.. thats a funny way to think about it.. lol

If you really think about it there are a lot of people that are not having any issues with it what so ever. Like me to name one! lol:haha:

I've been noticing this too. It's kind of annoying not getting that indication. I think it may be a bug.

smaller issue is no picture on the icon....my storm has the facebook pic for my contacts...no biggy

So once this process is finished. Your device will reboot then you will need to restore your user settings.

If you have a back up to restore from, yes. You just simply go to back up and restore in desktop manager and restore the backed up file.

The back up file should be saved under "My Documents" on your pc. Should say something like "Back up-(2009-7-20).ipd" Run DM (desktop manager) and select that file.

I apologize if this has been posted in another thread, but I've been skimming around and hadn't found any info yet...

Can anyone tell me how to revert back to the original BBM that came with 4.7.1 on my Tour? My 5.0 bbm is quite buggy and many of my messages aren't getting out.
Unfortunately I don't think I had done a backup yet before I put bbm 5.0 on. Any hope?
