Facebook 2.0.0.37 for BlackBerry Now Available In App World

Yesterday we reported Facebook 2.0 for BlackBerry would be dropping today, well it has officially been released as 2.0.0.37 and is now available in App World for all to download.

New and Improved Features:

Facebook Chat - Facebook Chat is fully integrated with BlackBerry smartphones, so users can start a conversation within the Facebook app or right from the message list on their device. Users never need to worry about missing a chat message since they’ll be notified of new chat messages even when they’re not using the Facebook app.

Brand New User Interface - Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones features a sleek new design which includes a new navigation grid, a notifications bar that borrows from the BlackBerry 6 “Today View” which summarizes all Facebook notifications, Messages, Friend Requests and Chats all in one handy location, and enhanced profile viewing.

WiFi Support - Users can stay connected with friends and enjoy the full functionality of the Facebook app for BlackBerry smartphones while in a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Core Integration - Facebook for BlackBerry is integrated with the BlackBerry message list, BlackBerry Contacts app, BlackBerry calendar, BlackBerry browser, and is now also integrated with BBM.

Redefined Notifications - Users will now be notified of polled items (notifications that aren’t delivered through BlackBerry push technology), such as ‘Likes’ and Event Wall posts.

It should be making it's way onto everyone's App World little by little so keep checking or if you're a member of the Beta Zone, log in and download it directly from there without a keycode.

what if i dont have access to appworld ??

I've installed it and noticed the following :
1- Privacy settings are added when you write a status to share.
2- Scrolling became better.
3- The three icons on the right at the top "Friend requests,Messages&Notifications" became like they are shaded(Not white in color like the old beta versions) but it turns white when you get a new notification.
That's what I've noticed for now.;)

Hahaha .. I hope so soon.Here in Egypt,It won't be released before at least 2 months after being released in US.:(

I installed this on my Curve 8530 thru AppWorld, and I do not have a Facebook icon anywhere. Anyone else have this issue? It shows in my Add on apps list.

Did you reboot your 8530 after installing? If you did,Try to re-install it again.

Downloaded and install in few ways already; normal install, OTA install, upgrades..security wipes+install from app world...etc..etc.. and still my facebook 2.0 freezes after a while use..(starting with a late notications then no notifications at all)had to restart phone and do battery remove sometimes..

any of you guys experinced this?

My 9780 is running with .600...

Did this happend on previous version of FB? If not you may need to revert back to that version.

It was fine in the previous version..I really like the upgrade esp the fb chat intg. When I google, there seems to be few peoples only reported this bug (makes me wonder, if there' a possible fix for this matter)

Yes!!! On my 9800. Actually, it freezes my entire phone at times and I get that annoying clock icon in the middle, and I can only fix it with a battery pull. Once I uninstalled it, my phone was fine.
