Thread: BlackBerry Messenger 6.0.0.88 Leaked

When new apps or software leaks it's always an exciting time. Maybe it's because of the possibility of new features or the risk of messing up your device. Either way, this latest version has apparently been extracted from the 9850/9860 simulator.

With it though comes certain software restrictions on who can download it:

• BlackBerry OS 6.0.0.570 or higher
• A BlackBerry ID
  
  
• Download BBM 6.0.0.88 here.
• If you downloaded it by accident and it messed up your BlackBerry try restarting it in Safe Mode.
• Share what's new in this build with us in the forums
• Note: This version of BBM might not work for all that try it. Some people are reporting the BBM icon disappears and fails to ever appear.

Yeah. Icon isn't showing up. My guess is it's Hybrid-only....

The same here ! BBM icon has disappeared :S

I think this version is not good. Very very buggy. Groups disappear on re-starts for me and it just generally sux. I wouldn't waste your time. Already deleted and went back to more stable

I have seen reports of some loosing their contact lists. Make sure you do your backups if you are willing ti try this...

Note that this is a leaked release, which means it is not meant for the general public until it actually is released officially.

Right, I think BBH-Plus really posted this knowing that it was not going to be stable for anyone. Have yet to hear of one person using this and being stable.

I have had very bad luck with these Hybrid BBMs. The Beta 6.0.0.73 has been stable with me for 2 months! I love it! Very snappy while scrolling through contacts and I personally have experienced no errors.


Anyone who wants to become a member of the BlackBerry Beta Zone and is having difficulty because of the country he resides in, feel free to send me a PM and I will hook you up.

Make sure to send me your First and last name, email address (that will be used for verification) and BlackBerry Device + PIN # as those will be associated with any keycodes RIM sends you when you try out their apps.

the system is unfair.

Why would someone living in the USA for example be able to test the latest BBM / Facebook, but people living elsewhere are not. This is pure racism, or does RIM think that people living on the other side of the world illiterate?

Heck, 90% of the users just sign up, install the latest apps, and forget about the Beta Zone, not really doing their job by proper Beta testing / reporting bugs.

Just my 2 cents, This is why, I have my own way for registering members from any place in the world

I wouldn't go as far to say it's racism, lol.

I think it's more on the lines of convenience. Beta zone is a English site with English support from a company started in a English speaking country. The Beta Zone would have to expand support for many languages if they opened it up to the entire world. Which could happen in the future.
