    Unhappy BBM upgrade Woes

    Hi All,

I just made a bad mistake this afternoon. I have a Curve 8330 and I am running the un-supported version of 5.0.0.230 OS on it. For about the last year I have been running this OS and had a working version of BBM 5.0.0.33(??) on it. I know it was a version of 5.0 but am not sure if it was .33 or not. I stupidly tried upgrading to the newest version of BBM today, totally forgetting that anything newer than the version I was running, causes my BBM icon to disappear.

Does anyone have a copy of the BBM 5.0.0.33 install file that you could post somewhere temporarily?

By the way, it appears that many of the links on this sticky thread, are no longer valid. http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/b...ota-links.html

Thanks for any help with this.

    Hey Joe,

The Appworld link at that post just takes me to the newest version at their site. The other link looked a little more promising but after downloading it I got a .zip file with a bunch of .cod files in it. Im not sure what to do with those. Im only familiar will loading .jar or .jad files onto the BB. Is there something I can do with those?

There is a program called BBHybrid Tools that allows you to create a axl. or jad. for the cod. files. I never used it, but you can download it here. It seems pretty self explanatory... BBHybrids Tool (Public Version) - Downloads - BBH-Plus Forums

Also.. saw this may be a solution as well, worth trying...
You can copy the COD files over the other BBM cod files in the OS. Should be in this location:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\[YOUR OS FOLDER]\Java

Let us know if you need more help, or if you were successful.

Or, you could copy the folder with the .cod files and .jad files to your blackberry, browse to it with the files app, then click on the .jad file, then click download.

EDIT: Never mind, saw that the folder didn't have a .jad file... Oops!
