Thread: Leaked: BlackBerry Messenger v6.0.0.56!

Ever since the first OS 6.1 leaks were announced yesterday, we have been seeing a flurry of BlackBerry app leaks. Good news today as we see BBM leaked version 6.0.0.56! Use caution if you decide to install as there are many conflicting reports on whether this version works or not. Leave us feedback if you do attempt to install and read our warnings below.

UPDATE: Shawn (TwistMyMind) has come up with a step-by-step instruction to successfully load BlackBerry Messenger v6.0.0.56

Warning #1: Please remember that this IS NOT an official release of BBM. If you wish to install this version keep in mind that this may cause your phone to not function correctly. BlackBerryOS and any other BlackBerryOS Official sites are not responsible.

Warning #2: Your old version (5.0) of BBM must be unistalled before installing this newer version. This is only compatible with OS 6 devices.

Here is the steps I used to make it successfully load:

1. Make sure you have a Stock BBM (5.0.1.49 seems to work well)
2. Install BlackBerry ID app (http://www.bbh-plus.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2044)
3. Install BBM 6.0.0.56 (http://bb-h.me/bbm60056)

Installed, rebooted, works like a charm.
Loving the fact that every contact can get a different colour in the chat :P Meaning the background ot the text they type. One gets pink, one blue, one violet etc. Like 15 colours you can customize. Intergrated it more with your BB contacts and got a little bit more nicer graphic wise.

Wow! You got it to work huh? Can you post some screenshots for us? A lot of people are skeptic that it works at all.

Installed this last night but it also screwed up my telephone. I have a Torch with the leaked OS 6.0.0.486
I first deleted the latest BBM 5.x, then rebooted, installed this one OTA, rebooted again and got stuck on the boot logo with an App Error 200 after 10 minutes. Had to recover to the latest official OS 6. I am now downloading the leaked OS 6.0.0.526.
With the leaked OS 6.1 seperate apps nothing has worked for me so far: Facebook (says it is installed but does not appear anywhere), App World (can't login anymore, not even with Blackberry ID downloaded file) and BBM6.

sOkkie: I sent you a message in Dutch. Facebook doesn't show wither, but Appworld just make your BB id again, use same details, worked with me.

What I did was, go to BBOS site via wifi and just click the toppic, then the link to download, you get a new site, click the download link and it installed. Asked to reboot and this is it.
The app world can be solved by signing up again but using your old details. It doesn't give an error and you can log in as usual.

Ps, I see that the last image looks broken, but you can see the colours you can use I hope.

Use this app, called ScreenShot Free, you can download it free from our store and it will take a perfect screenshot of your devices' screen and save it to your phone. Then you just send the picture from your phone to your email. I use it and it works great... ScreenShot Free on BlackBerryOS App Superstore

it didnt work on my os 6 bb9700 and i dont know why i lost my contacts any success stories with this install ?

No problem, thanks fpor the app.
Yeah I do have the custom fronts, was posted here, looks so much better then the standard fronts
I think it's mostly graphics that are updated, like the custom colours to a chat and all.
On the other hand, it does run smooth and it's tweaked abit.
It's just that it works for me, if you keep having problems installing, it's not worth it though I love the fact you can personolize it more.
Pro's: More way's to personolize, easier way to invite people, better intergration of contacts with addressbook etc. and nicer graphics
Con's: Heavy file, takes some time to start up sometimes doesn't respond the forst few times, seeing that up till now Im the only one who got it to work, it's not worth the trouble. Better wait for a stable leak.

Did you do anything special when you installed it? lol
