BlackBerry Messenger v5.0.1.38 - Now Publicly Available

Well it looks like they have official pulled BlackBerry Messenger 5.0.1.xx out of the minors (BlackBerry Beta Zone) and is now available to the public. Just recently BlackBerry Messenger 5.0.1.32 was released in the BlackBerry Beta Zone and now v5.0.1.38 has now been released into the wild. Make sure to hit up BlackBerry Appworld and download your copy asap. When you are done be sure to let us know what you think about the new changes. For those still using the public version 5.0.0.57, you are in for a big treat. Enjoy the new version guys!

Well first off, the layout is cleaned up quite a bit. And each message has a dot in front of it that goes from yellow to white like the arrows did. You have the option to receive SMS or not. Yay!. I also like how the send and contact options are set up. Still no auto except for file transfers and no new smileys. That's all I've noticed really. I don't use too much of the other things.

I like the new layout. Its def slicker then the old versions.

I have look in App world and tried each of the OTA links. No update on App World, and the OTA give me a Bad Gateway Error, Any Sug????

I downloaded it straight from the BB Home (www.blackberry.com/mobile) portal.

www.blackberry.com/mobile gives me a 404 error, app world is still on version 5.0.0.57 and getting a bad gateway error.... Oh well

Am still seeing old version in app world as well and links anit no good :(

at last this update fixed all the issues with status updating if you had over 100 contacts and fixed the problem with the pictures displayed that wouldnt update either thxs rim LoL

Its all good now. RIM tried to slow the download, so there servers would not overload.

Does anyone have all the COD files and ALX files for 5.0.1.38 yet? I want to to try putting this on my BES and push it to all my users. Makes it easier than having to have each user go and manually download it.

I'm wondering if there is still a way to install through desktop like there was in the past. i cant seem to find any links for the install using usb/desktop manager with this build.
