I have not run across anything like this Ahmedtiko.
I'll keep an eye out...
Maybe you can bbm your friend and ask him/her what the display pic is and how they were able to get it animated.

Was your friends display animated in the BBM contact list? I was able to get one to work but it is NOT animated in the contact list. If you opened my profile and then opened the picture only then did you see the animation.
EDIT: I attached the one that I got to work.

you're right.. u have to open the pic and then it becomes animated. and yes it is .gif but it has to be small sized or something, cuz i tried to use one of my own, but didnt work
