Pending (waiting for authorization) and undelivered messages

Hi,
I live in Australia and keep having major problems with BBM. A few days ago, I decided to rest my bb to factory default to solve the issue and well, since then, it's been problems after problems.

I've been trying to add my friends again. They can add me but on my side, it says PENDING (waiting for authorization).

I've added a guy from Australia today (since all my contacts are overseas) and it works fine...don't know if it's luck or just that my BBM works with Australia only.

I have a data plan for BB.

I just talked to my sister (in france)...she is the only one i've been able to add on my contact list. She can receive my messages but all the messages she sends stay undelivered.

I have installed the last BBM version, I have resend the service books.

I really don't understand what is happening ?!?

Can someone help ?
What can i do ?

Can you browse the internet? amd who is your carrier?

yes, i can browse the internet, receive email on my bb, i can send message using PIN but BBM is playing up major !

Any solution ?

YEP, several times...i've tried 4.7 and well, the last one, .57

Could it be a set-up of permissions problem ?

I just even tried adding myself on BBM (inviting my own PIN). I received a request in 2 sec, accepted it and got myself as a contact 2 sec later.

All the messages i send are received properly (well, by myself !).

What the hell is happening ?

I think you and your friends need to start clean. Make sure you have no contacts added. Remove any that you have added. Then make sure your friend have deleted you as a contact. After that, try adding.

What I've tried so far...
- Reinstall fresh bb software
- delete all contacts and ask my contacts to delete me.
- start adding people using 4.7 (didn't work so back to delete pending requests)
- install version .57
- add people again
- checked if firewall is on.

Only managed to add people in australia without any trouble. All overseas aren't working.

Call your carrier and ask them to transfer you to a BlackBerry tech... Something fishy is going on if none of those worked.

malagasy - i have the EXACT SAME problem as you do. i'm located in london, and i cannot add anyone else who is not in the uk! ive called up my service provider, done a reinstall of the BB operating system, reinstall of my BBM - both using the BB app world and when connected to the computer, readded all my contacts, resent the service book, done a zillion battery pulls, added by pin by email deleted and readded and linking the pins and emails to the blackberry contact, got another friend with my same service provider to add that same friend - and it worked for him but still not for me.........

i'm so so so annoyed. have you been able to find any solutions yet???

Have either one of you checked our permissions for both the core applications and system software? If the are not both set to allow, change so all fields are set to allow, then then recheck your bbm permissions and make sure they are all set to allow as well.

BBM not working intl. either

I am having the same issue. US bbm, not connecting to UK or French (both orange) bbm. I can send messages, but they never appear as read on my phone and friends in Europe can not reply.

Any thoughts? And joshjamie can you please explain the authorisations in post 11. I do not understand what to do.

Go to options,
Applications,
Core,
Highlight Blackberry core applications and hit the bb menu button then edit permission.
Change all pull down options to allow then save.
Highlight the Blackberry system software and hit the bb menu button then edit permissions
Change all pulldown options to allow then save.
Go to addon applications and highlight bb messenger, hit the bb menu button, edit default permissions,
Change all pull down options to allow and save.

Exit applications

You should make sure they delete you too. I've had problems with that before. I've also had double contacts. But make sure you both delete eachother before one tries to add. I hope that helps you out.

Thank you both for input. However, I still can not get it to work. Maybe there is some sort of issue with the networks in some European countries and a US phone.
