HELP! Beta version of BBM 5.0.0.8 being shut down by RIM

i'm using the beta version of BBM 5.0.0.8 and i received a message from the BBM support team telling me that i can no longer use BBM unless i download the update from the appworld website. unfortunately my data plan is basic (email and bbm), so i can't download it.

does anyone have the cod/alx files for BBM v5.0.0.33 they can send me or an OTA file that i can use through my 'explore' function on my media card? i've tried the OTA files from all the forums, but no one has one that works.

i tried bb appworld and it says you can't do it through your desktop. any other ota links or suggestions?

Download AppWorld to your Blackberry then you will be able to download BBM 5.0.0.33.

none of these work =(

i tried doing it through the 'explore' function through the media card to download the jad file, but 3/4 of the way through it stops downloading and gives me an error.

* 907 invalid COD - unable to import ZIP file

now my icon for bbm is not showing up, but its still in the applications folder in 'options'. what should i do?

i went to the bb website, but they don't allow to do downloads through usb (i only have simple data plan - bbm and email)


am i doing something wrong? does someone have a step by step on how to do this properly?

You try to use loader once you have the files on your pc? And not using the card?

thanks everyone for all your help and looking into it for me. member: duck383 was able to send me alx and cod files so that i could load it through application loader through DM.

now using v5.0.0.33 and hopefully no more messages from the bb support telling me i can't use bbm after a certain date.

If something like that happens again, just come back here and the helpful peeps of BBOS will help ya out. that's what makes this site better than the "other" ones.
