i've tried since 1:30 to DL new bbm w/ ota files and got download fail everytime. i tried the install the .cod files through bbsak i swear i did it right but it never loaded. unitl i just read to delete the old bbm. then i found another ota and finally installed it.

is this just for OS 5?

Ya it is worth noting that this did not work on 4.7.1.65. I overwrote the .33 and no dice. I deleted all BBM and redownloaded and no go. It showed up in the app list but not in the app window.

anyone still have the cods? or OTA? and does anyone know if this will work on the 8330 with 5.0.0.230

The new BBM is just for OS 5.0 i think, it keep failing on my friends bold using OS 4.6.0.xxx

The way data is stored changes with this version, you cannot go back to a previous version of BBM without losing your data.

There is also a chance this version messes up your text messages that were received with an older version of BBM.

You can also back your contacts up on desktop manager so you don't lose them if you want to downgrade for some reason

I got the files to load and the new version running, but I have one question.

Has anyone else noticed that BBM is no longer listed under "Add ons" as a single item, but now each and every COD file is listed under "Core"? Just makes it a little harder if I wanted to go back. I have to remove each file one at the time.

Just curious.

I haven't found 1 link that worked so far. Anyone help me out?

From your info you are running a hybrid based on 4.6 which this will not work with.. you would have to be running a full 5.0 os or a hybrid based on 5.0

I have a zip file that I can email to you if you send me a PM. I used BBSAK to install the CODs and it worked perfectly.

Word of advice, backup your contacts before doing this. You will loose all chats when you do this as well.

How did you install yours? I used BBSAK and loaded each COD file individually. There is a JAD file I can use if I go and remove them all and reload. Would that fix it?
