How to find Vendor.xml on Windows XP -
(For also the Windows Vista and Windows 7 instructions see below XP)
Recently we have seen a wave of rouge phantom Vendor.xml ninja's that hide and do not want removed. A suggestion I have is instead of going into the apploader folder and deleting it, use this method to remove all traces of it. So lets get to it.
Step 1 - Open search and set to search all hidden and sub folders.
Step 2 - Delete any and all Vendor.xml files there. (Please ignore my other vendor files... you are looking for only .xml)
Step 3 - no pic required empty you recycle bin.
Step 4 - repeat step 1.
If there are no vendor.xml in the search this time you should be good to go. Like is said before just remember to search instead of deleting just from the folder hopefully this will help someone.
How to find Vendor.xml on Windows Vista -
Step 1 - Click the start menu and at the bottom type in vendor.xml.
Step 2 - click on advanced search as shown...
Step 3 - Checkmark the box for search non indexed hidden, etc, type in vendor again, and then make sure you are searching your computer.
Step 4 - Delete any vendor.xml that show up in there, empty your recycle bin and repeat step one just to make sure you got them all. And there ya have it.
How to find Vendor.xml on Windows 7 -
( C: )... Program Files(x86)... Common Files... Research In Motion... App Loader...
( C: )... Users... (your user directory)... App Data... Roaming... Research In Motion... BlackBerry... Loader XML...
To search from the field entry just go to C: drive and type vendor.xml in search field. It may take a bit to search if you haven't indexed your C: drive.
After you have found the Vendor.xml files be sure to delete, empty your recycle bin, and repeat the search to make sure you got them all and they are deleted.
