Please help me. I have a 9630 with Sprint. I was following the information above and found 2 vendor.xml files. One of them i was able to delete the other is in a folder that i cant follow via the address the search is turning up then when i open the folder the only actions i can perform are "copy" and "extract" What do I do??
have you checked to see if the os will install without deleting the other one? sometimes your PC will have one that cant be deleted

Thanks for this tip. I use to come across this issue often
Funny how this seems like such a basic task to many, but if you've never dealt with it before, it can elude you.
Is this something we can add to the "how-to" section?
There are several "basic" tasks such as this that can be a real problem for our less experienced members, and if the steps were spelled out, it would make the experience much easier for all.
i am running a window 7 operating system, how do i search for the vendor.xml file, at the search field?
To find BlackBerry Vendor.xml files in Windows 7...

To search from the field entry just go to C: drive and type vendor.xml in search field. It may take a bit to search if you haven't indexed your C: drive.
