Pl note the steps again :-
    1. Installed OS for ur device on ur PC. If u don't install the OS first, then how are you going to install the OS on ur BB?? BB needs a source to install the SW & that source is OS installed on ur PC.
    2. Use BBSAK to Wipe the device. This will give u a clean install.
    3. Then follow the steps described in this post to get a working BB.
    Thanks

I did install OS (downloaded from this site actually) before trying the steps. I suppose I should have been more specific in asking does it matter where on the C drive it is installed, what folder, just assumed everyone would understand what I meant. Does it need to be in the RIM folder, under the Common files folder, just on the drive not in a folder? I did not use BBSAK since it was not mentioned in the original article but I will try now.

Install the OS where it automatically recommends you to on your computer.

My computer always detects the device PIN, so I couldn't do this step as You described. Any sugestions?

    Default Frozen

My Curve 8530 isn't stuck in a reboot loop..it gets to the carrier logo splash and freezes...in app loader it connects and shows the PIN, but won't finish connecting...freezes on "Read device service information"

    anything else I can try?

i love this trewat and went throught reading all of the problems other are having and i nothing one other was having the same problem as me.
my 9550 screen is completely black, the light flashes red when battery is put back in or on the charger.
the phone work because lights on the button below are on and battery is high, becuase i checked it on another phone
and if i press the SAY A COMMAND bootton and say check battery, it reply battery is high.
a lcd/screen change did nothing for the problem.

i have done evething that i have read on this page and the 4 other more than twice...

is there anything else that MIGHT work?

(THE PROBLEM STARTED AFTER AN UPGRADE)

Sorry for the late response shortie. If you're still having problems, read through this post: Nuked Blackberry? HELP! and see if it helps.
Didn't see your post here in the how-to section. Post in the Torch 9800 section, so that you will get the best exposure.
