Hello, first of all I want to thank you for the nice tutorial.
But I am having a problem restoring it.
It comes to wait for device initialization then a popup appearss and it says "Connection Prompt", my device was disconnected somehow, I tried it at 3 pc's and it all the pc's gave the same problem, I have a blackberry bold 9000 and I am sure that is it nuked.
I made a printscreen:

The things I tried after the error:
I tried to pull out the battery, and the usb cable, then I put the usb cable back in it and the battery, but it didn't worked.
I also have 2 batterys, 1 new battery I bought, but that one doesn't work either. So it is not a battery problem.
Hope someone can help!
Welcome to the forum Darkwa,
Have you tried a different USB port? Have you tried a different USB Cable?

My phone says there is no memory space available and freezes for days on end. It has been stuck on the blackberry loading screen at start up with a full bar and wont turn on completely. I have deleted apps to free up space (when I could get it to turn on fully) but by the end of the day it was out of memory space and the phone would start freezing again. How do I get my phone to work?
Seems like you need to wipe your device and then load the lastest official OS for your device. Go to our Resource Center as we have plenty of How-To tutorials on how to do this... Resource Center

Thanks Guys
so i've got a 8900 curve thats been nuked ( i think) ive downloaded the original OS for my carrier, rogers. but when i get to the stage that the ap loader is supposed to recognize it an instal it, it wont. I've tried pulling the battery. if i plug it into the computer it connects and disconnects often on its own without the battery if i try to instal upgraded os.
Also when i plug it into USB i don't get a "unknown usb" i get USB Pin:..... but the app loader still stops it from rebooting all the time when i plug in the battery it keeps it going. but the main problem is that the ap loader cannot find / recognize the OS to instal any ideas?
Thanks
**revision
it found it, but no matter what now it always says that the "application loader was unable to connect with your device...." it always happens while "Reconnecting to the JVM". the battery works fine i tested it in another Blackberry, so i am haveing a difficult time trying to troubleshoot what the issue could be
I've followed the steps in this document (thank you btw!), to no avail.
I'm first presented with a dialog box, which asks me to select the connection. My PIN is populated, battery is out.
Next, I'm presented with a dialog box, prompting me for my password.
After entering my password and clicking "next", I get a third dialog box:
"A connection to the device could not be established. Please ensure that the device is properly connected to the cradle or USB cable, and that the cradle or USB cable is connected securely to your computer. Also ensure that the device has completed any startup operations. Then run the Application Loader Wizard again."
Any ideas?

i followed all the steps but why isnt the connection still apearing in that box???
Help! My storm is doing everything this describes & I've followed the steps. 2 things are different though. My connection box doesn't say "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN" it actually has my pin number. Then it says "Connecting to the device (JVM)..." and then quickly changes to "Connecting to the device (ARM)..." It then brings up a box that says Device Application Selection but it doesn't have anything in it & says
"The BlackBerry Desktop Software does not have BlackBerry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator." I backed up my phone 1 month ago after downloading the most recent Desktop Manager. Any ideas or am I just out of luck?

Yes. Does it matter where exactly it's installed?
