Thread: How to get all features (Browser, MMS, ETC..) working on AT&T or T-Mobile

My directions include more screen shots and links to everything you need

You will need to download the following programs:
Download Desktop Manager 4.7 (Enter 202 555 5555 Click Download Now) if you do not have it on your pc or if you have the CD's
that came with the Storm install Desktop Manager. (CD- BlackBerry User Tools) it takes sometime to launch after clicking on the install button
Crack Utility (If you are using Vista, after you install Crack Utility, right click, go to properties, compatability mode, run as administrator)
AT&T or T-Mobile Service Books (Save to your Desktop)
Download the OS version that your Storm is using (You can find it by going to Options/About) Verizon Storm OS enter 202 555 5555 and click on Download Now
You will need a active BlackBerry Data plan and it has to say EDGE for everything to work
MENU BUTTON =


At anytime if your BlackBerry has shown "CODE ACCEPTED" continue with steps below:

1. Insert the AT&T or T-Mobile simcard in the Storm
2. Click on the Green phone button
3. Type ##000000 (Click on Green phone button)
   
   
   
4. A CDMA Edit Service Screen will open
5. Under Mobile Directory Number enter the # associated with the sim card
   
6. Click on the menu button and select Save
   
   
   
7. BlackBerry is now restarting
8. Go to your Icon Menu screen
9. Click on Manage Connections
   
   
   
10. Click on Mobile Network Options
    
    
    
11. Change the settings to the following:
    Data Services: On
    Network Selection Mode: Automatic
    Network Technology: GSM/UMTS
    Network Mode: 3G & 2G
    
    
    
12. Click the back key
    
13. You should be on the Icon Menu screen
14. Go to Setup then Options (If Options is not inside the Setup folder go back to the main screen )
    
    
    
15. Go to Advance Options
    
    
    
16. Scroll down and click on TCP/IP
    
    
    
17. If you are using AT&T use the following:
    Check APN Settings Enabled
    APN: wap.cingular.com
    Check APN Authentication Enabled
    Username for APN: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
    Password for APN: CINGULAR1
    
    
    If you are using T-Mobile use the following:
    Check APN Settings Enabled
    APN: wap.voicestream.com
    Uncheck APN Authentication Enabled
    
18. Click on the back key and Save
19. Scroll up and click on Host Routing Table (this will be empty if you do not have a BBerry plan, just skip)
    
20. Scroll down and highlight the BOLD routing table
    
    
    
21. Click on the Menu key and Register Now
    
    
    
22. Restart your Storm by removing the battery
23. Plug the USB cable into the Storm and connect it to your PC
24. Launch Crack Utility
25. A Enter Password screen will pop up, enter PW or Click Ok
26. Click on File Manipulation - INTERMEDIATE tab
    
    
    
27. Click on Retrieve File Listings
28. Scroll down and click on net_rim_bb_browser_daemon
    
    
    
29. Now Click on Remove File from Device
30. You will see a Grid Index out of range error (ignore)
    
31. BlackBerry is now restarting
32. When the BlackBerry restarts you will see an error (ignore)
33. Launch Desktop Manager if it asks to upgrade select Cancel
34. Click on Backup and Restore
35. Click on Advanced
36. Click on File
37. Select Open and find the service book downloaded
38. Under Computer Databases highlight Service Books
39. Click on the >>
    
    
    
40. A window will open select Yes
    
    
    
41. Close Desktop Manager
42. Open Crack Utility
43. Go back to File Manipulation - INTERMEDIATE tab
44. Click on Load File to Device
45. Double click on net_rim_bb_browser_daemon
    
    
    
46. BlackBerry will restart itself
47. Unplug the Storm
48. NOW GO ENJOY YOUR STORM!!!

Hey unlockmyberry, I have a quick question. I'm on the Telus network. I'm going to Vegas next week and was wondering if I could fire a T-Mo sim card into my 9530 while I'm down there to avoid roaming charges. Is this at all possible??

If you have an account with T-Mobile, I think you will have no problem doing the SIM swap.

I tried it, it works.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the service books can be from any working bberry on the network you want. Service books are not phone specific, just carrier specific.

phone books are not phone specific. You can use any of the service books above in any BlackBerry. I've loaded the AT&T service book on my girlfriends Tmobile 8320 and I got the AT&T browsers etc... Some carriers will work fine with the other browsers from either att or tmobile.

Trial and error on what will work with other carriers.

my EDGE goes back to edge when i use my browser. any ideas?

if your on att use shrink -a-os to swap your radio to the 5.0.0.140 radio file i did and it works better than the .151 file in my opinion.

hi i am in bulgaria and i use storm 2 and i dont know where i can get the data service book of the provider i am using i am mtel bg (mobitel bg) i was ask if i want to use my service with the blackberry i have to pay monthly bills and i dont want it how can i get the sevice book and what can i do to make my browserwork back on wifi

does this work with the tour? does it give u 3g speed?
